Hello, stamping friends!  I've had a few birthday cards to make this month so Moxie Fab's Stamp It Birthday Challenge was right on time for me!  Here's one of the cards:

Birthday Candles

Love You to Pieces

Ok, this is my third post tonight and I'm getting sleepy so I think I'll stop for today!  Be sure to check my previous post (I share my experience in 'sprucing-up' my craft room and have blog candy!)

So this post is for a card I made for MoxieFab's Stamp It! Cards Week.  There are five different ones and this one is called "The Love Card Challenge".  We have to make a love card using stamping as the main technique.  Stamping?  Card? Definitely the perfect 'love' combination!  Here's my card:

For the  main image I stamped two separate flowers: one red, one pink.  I used a Spellbinders die to cut out a circle from the pink flower.  I then used a heart punch to cut out hearts in a circular pattern.  To ensure I had a decent 'heart circle', here's what I did:

1. Stamp an extra pink flower and randomly punch out hearts.  The way I punched them I only got 4 and then used them on the inside of the card).  
2. On the circle to be used on the card, cut one heart out and turn the circle around.  
3. Place the heart punch-outs from step 2 as shown
4. Trace top of hearts with pencil
5. Use the tracing to line up punch and you'll get a perfect pattern! 
6. Save the heart punch outs from step 5 to incorporate in design. 

Once the circle with the pink flower had the hearts punched out I adhered it over the red flower in a way the flower image is not disrupted.  

I really wanted the card to say "I love you to pieces" because it goes so well with the design.  Only problem was I don't have a stamp with that sentiment and I did not want to print it on the computer since the main technique for this challenge is stamping.  Then I remembered I had a little set of alphabet stamps so I made my own sentiment!  To line the letters up I lightly traced a straight line with a  ruler and erased it when done.  

That's my love card, friends.  And thank you Cath for another great challenge!  This is the first challenge I participate on since you're back from surgery so I was feeling the love for the Moxie Fab World!  What can I say but: "Love you to pieces!"

"L" Birthday

Hi, again!  I'm on a roll this week!  LOL.  Today I'm posting for Stamp TV's Monday Challenge, which calls for making a card using a 1, 2, or 3 letter monogram.  Since I needed a birthday card for a friend, I thought of making it using her first name initial: L.  Here's the card I came up with:

I did not have any large scale letters to use for the monogram so I decided to make my own by cutting the design paper to shape the "L".  I cut out two stripes and shaped as shown.  I love the colors of the paper (Ooh La La paper stack from My Mind's Eye).  Gina K. Designs' Jelly Bean Green card stock coordinated perfectly with this paper.  The flower stamp is also from GKD (sorry, I got it from a grab bag prize and I don't know the name of the stamp set it came from).

The card's front is shorter than the back so I placed some of the DP inside of the card (just at the bottom) to add some interest.  I also punched the edge of the card to make it stand out.

Mother's Day Cards - More!

Hi!  Where has the day gone?!?   Where has the week gone, for that matter!  LOL  I'm just peeking in to share some cards I've made for Mother's Day (I did not make them all today but just now got around posting them):

Mother's Day Cards - More!

Sew Pretty Mother's Day Card

Hi!  This is my first post of new material since I moved my blog, and I am excited to kind of be back participating on challenges!  Today I'm posting for My Craft Spot's Monday Challenge, Make It Pop!  I have been working on some cards for Mother's Day so this week you may see a few of those!  For this challenge we had to use dimensional foams to make a part of the card pop.  I just love how the card takes on new life when dimension is added!  Here's my card:

I like sewing but it took me a while to find a setting on my machine where I actually liked the stitching. I still have to practice a bit more more I think I've come a long way from my first stitches!  

Below is a view of the card laying flat so you can see the oval 'pop out'!
